About Ouizami
A TCF-coach-designed, AI-powered web app for practising TCF Canada Speaking (expression orale) and Writing (expression écrite).
- You answer exam-format tasks; feedback arrives within a few minutes for short tasks, up to about 20 minutes for the longest.
- Each response gets rubric-based feedback, a corrected version of your answer and an estimated CEFR level (A1 to C2) with its NCLC/CLB equivalent. Writing tasks also get a model answer.
- Designed by Prachi, a TCF Canada coach; built by Mindmir in British Columbia, Canada.
French learners preparing for TCF Canada who can already form basic sentences (A2 and above).
- The earlier you start producing, the better: most candidates know the grammar and do well in Listening and Reading but cannot produce French under exam pressure.
- It is not a beginner French course.
- Typical targets: NCLC 5 for a work-permit route, NCLC 7 (B2) for permanent residence.
- Many start at A2 and grow with the tasks; others join for intensive preparation before the exam or when stuck at a level, often NCLC 6.
It corrects and guides; it does not replace a French course.
- Every answer: a corrected version, an enhanced version and hints for next time; Writing also gets a model answer.
- In-app guides for each Speaking and Writing task.
- Assumes A2-level basics and turns that knowledge into fluent, accurate French under exam conditions.
- Below A2? Build the basics first, then practise here.
No. Ouizami is built only for Speaking and Writing.
- TCF Canada has four compulsory tests (Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing), so prepare the other two separately.
- Speaking and Writing are the sections where candidates most often fall short of NCLC 7 and where feedback is hardest to get.

Ouizami is built for TCF Canada, but its Speaking and Writing practice also helps with similar exams.
- TCF Québec: the Speaking and Writing tasks are close to TCF Canada's, so the practice carries over well.
- TEF Canada: the tasks have a different format, so Ouizami helps with your French but doesn't mirror the TEF tasks.
- Always check the format of the exam you're sitting on its official site.
Written by our team, following the official TCF Canada task formats and recurring themes.
- Themes include work, housing, environment, education and technology.
- Inspired by the exam, not copied: France Éducation international does not allow exam questions to be shared, and we never publish recalled questions.
- Users can add their own questions and bookmark any question for later.
For Speaking, yes — a chatbot cannot hold a timed conversation with you, listen to your pronunciation and intonation, or track your recurring errors over time. For Writing, a generic AI can help, but only if you prompt it precisely every time: the exact task format, the word count, the TCF criteria and the level you are aiming for. Ouizami has all of that built in.
- It transcribes what you actually said, including most hesitations and self-corrections, so the feedback is about your real French rather than a cleaned-up version.
- Every Speaking and Writing task mirrors the real exam format, and your work goes through several levels of evaluation — rule-based checks plus AI assessment against TCF criteria — rather than one model's single opinion.
- Speaking practice is a real conversation with an AI examiner — follow-up questions in Tasks 1 and 3, a role-play partner in Task 2 — with feedback on what you actually said.
- Many candidates use both: a generic AI for vocabulary and grammar, Ouizami for exam practice and measurement.

You practise the real exam format, get coach-level feedback on every attempt, and can see exactly what to fix next.
- Exam-format tasks: every Speaking and Writing task mirrors the official task types, timing and themes.
- A live Speaking partner at any hour: an AI examiner that asks follow-up questions and plays the role-play, so you never wait for a tutor or a friend.
- Feedback built by a TCF coach: corrections with the reason, an enhanced version of your own answer, and a model answer for Writing.
- A transcript of what you actually said, with pronunciation and intonation comments you cannot get from a text-only tool.
- Error History: your recurring mistakes tracked over time, so you work on the type that costs you the most.
- Test Mode: a timed, three-task run that gives you a realistic estimate of where you stand before you book the exam.
- Your own questions: add any topic you want to practise and bookmark questions to return to.
- No memorising: the method is say what you think, get corrected, repeat, which is what the examiner rewards.

Prachi, a TCF Canada coach who passed the exam and immigrated to Canada through the French pathway.
- Built with her co-founder Rohit, an AI product builder.
- The rubric, task guides and Writing model answers come from her coaching; the AI applies them at scale.
No. Ouizami is independent.
- Not affiliated with France Éducation international, which designs TCF Canada, or with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
- Tasks follow the official format, timing and themes. Only the official organisations can give authoritative exam and immigration rules.

Speaking
Yes. Speaking tasks run as a live conversation with an AI examiner, any hour of the day.
- Task 1: it asks spontaneous follow-up questions, as the real examiner does.
- Task 2: it plays the role-play partner and answers the questions you ask.
- Task 3: it listens to your 4-minute-30 monologue, evaluates it, and can ask follow-up questions, as the real examiner does.
Three tasks, 12 minutes in total including 2 minutes of preparation, face to face with an examiner.
- Task 1 (2 min): guided interview about you, with follow-up questions.
- Task 2 (2 min preparation, then 3 min 30): role-play where you ask the questions.
- Task 3 (4 min 30, no preparation): defend an opinion on a given topic.
- Ouizami mirrors each task's format and timing.

No, and that is deliberate: memorised answers hold candidates back.
- Examiners reward spontaneous, natural French.
- The topics are about everyday life and society, so everyone can have their own thoughts and opinions on them. Rather than memorising someone else's answer, say what you actually think and learn to say it correctly.
- Candidates who study many model responses sound rehearsed, lose natural intonation and freeze when the question changes.
- Instead you get a corrected and an enhanced version of what you said. Say what you think, make mistakes, learn the correct form, repeat.
- Need ideas? Read a few articles on each theme; we are collecting theme-by-theme reads on our Resources page.

A per-criterion score, a transcript of what you said and corrections.
- The transcript captures what you actually said, including most hesitations and self-corrections, so feedback reflects your real French.
- Comments on pronunciation, fluency, grammar and vocabulary.
- Replay your recording next to the corrected audio.
- Every error is saved to Error History.
- The score is an estimate, not an official examiner's mark.
Find the error types and the task that hold you back, fix them one at a time, and redo the task on a new theme.
- Open Error History and start with your most frequent error type, not the hardest one.
- Give complete answers: in Task 1 add a reason and an example, in Task 2 ask natural follow-up questions, in Task 3 take a position and defend it with two arguments.
- Work on rhythm and intonation as much as grammar; French spoken with English rhythm holds a score at a threshold even when the grammar is clean.
- NCLC 7 is checked separately in all four abilities for Express Entry, so keep preparing Listening and Reading too.

Writing
Three tasks in 60 minutes, typed on a computer.
- Task 1: a short message (about 60 to 120 words).
- Task 2: an article, letter or post (about 120 to 150 words).
- Task 3: a two-part text comparing two opinions, then giving your own (about 120 to 180 words).
- Ouizami mirrors each task's format, length and timing in Test Mode.

Line-by-line corrections with the reason, plus three versions to learn from.
- Each error: what you wrote, the correction, why.
- A corrected version of your own text, an enhanced version and a model answer.
- Your weak grammar areas to revise, listed separately.
- Download the report; errors go to Error History.
Because structure and format can be learned from an example; spontaneity cannot.
- Writing is judged on organisation, register and task completion, which a model shows clearly.
- Use the model to compare structure and connectors, not to memorise sentences.
Practise summarising two points of view, then giving your own opinion with reasons, inside the word limit.
- Part 1: present both documents fairly in a few sentences each, using reporting verbs and connectors.
- Part 2: state your position and support it with two arguments and one example.
- Answer the actual texts in front of you; a prepared essay on the theme scores poorly on task completion.
- Practise Tasks 1 and 2 first; Task 3 builds on both.
Feedback, scores and practice
A few minutes for short tasks, up to about 20 minutes for the longest.
- Writing is faster.
- Speaking takes longer: we transcribe what you said, then evaluate pronunciation, fluency, grammar and vocabulary.
- Careful evaluation takes time; it is never instant.
No. Ouizami gives an estimate, not a prediction.
- Each answer is scored against a rubric that follows the official criteria.
- Our grading is deliberately demanding; candidates often report a higher official score than their Test Mode scores.
- Test Mode scores are the better estimate, because they mirror exam conditions; Practice Mode is for improving and seeing progress over time.
- Criteria and weightings are our own; France Éducation international does not publish theirs.

Yes. Some candidates have shared their Ouizami Test Mode estimates alongside their official TCF Canada results; see the examples on our results page.
- These are individual experiences candidates chose to share, not a study, and they do not predict your score.
- The pattern they show matches our grading design: official scores are often equal to or higher than the last Test Mode estimate, because our grading is deliberately demanding.
- Use your own trend across several Test Mode attempts as the signal that matters.
Because the same error types keep appearing.
- Recurring errors (gender agreement, prepositions, verb tenses, memorised phrases) cap your level.
- Open Error History, pick your most frequent type, revise it, redo a task on the same theme.
- TCF Canada scores everything together: grammar, vocabulary, how well you answer the task, pronunciation and intonation. Each has to reach the target level.
- Fixing grammar is not enough if you still speak French with English rhythm and intonation; that alone holds a score at a threshold.
- Scores move when error types disappear and pronunciation improves, not when attempts pile up.

Practice builds; Test measures.
- Practice Mode: one task, one theme, your pace, feedback on each answer.
- Test Mode: all three Speaking or Writing tasks back to back under official time limits, with an overall estimated level. Test Mode scores are the better estimate of where you stand.
Task 1, then Task 2, then Task 3, in both Speaking and Writing.
- Speaking Task 1: learn to introduce yourself and talk about everyday topics.
- Speaking Task 2: learn to ask questions and answer spontaneously.
- Speaking Task 3: move to the monologue, where you present an argument.
- Writing Task 1: basic requests, such as a message to a friend.
- Writing Task 2: sharing an experience, where you show your command of past tenses.
- Writing Task 3: compare and summarise two documents, then give your opinion.
Pick one recurring language error and one task-specific issue, fix those, then redo a similar task.
- Read the overall comments first, then the line-by-line corrections.
- Compare your text or transcript with the corrected and enhanced versions; note what changed and why.
- Rewrite or re-record only the weak part, then attempt a new task on the same theme.
- Judge progress over several attempts, not one score.

- Federal Skilled Trades: NCLC 5 in Speaking and Listening, NCLC 4 in Reading and Writing.

It meets the language condition of some routes, but it does not by itself make you eligible for a work permit.
- Under IRCC's Francophone Mobility route, applicants generally need Speaking and Listening at NCLC 5 or higher, plus the other program conditions.
- Ouizami helps with Speaking; prepare Listening separately.
- NCLC 5 in Speaking is a TCF Canada score of 6 out of 20 on IRCC's table.

Each of the four sections gets its own result, which IRCC converts to an NCLC/CLB level; the four are never averaged.
- Listening and Reading: multiple choice, 39 questions each, scored on a 100–699 scale.
- Speaking and Writing: scored out of 20. NCLC 7 is 10–11, NCLC 6 is 7–9, NCLC 5 is 6.
- Your examiner gives a first evaluation of Speaking; an independent corrector at France Éducation international evaluates the recording without seeing the first, and a third decides if the two differ a lot. Writing gets the same double correction.
- Ouizami reports its own estimate on the same CEFR and NCLC scales so you can track where you stand.
